For some, AUB is not just a great place to study and work, but the beginning of a love story. Compiled here are photos and stories of married couples who met at AUB. Did you meet at AUB?
Hana and Ramy met at AUB in 1996. Crossing paths several times after graduation, their friendship matured and blossomed into love. They got married in 2005 and now have four beautiful daughters.
“We met at AUB early in our freshman year while standing outside the door of our Chemistry 101 class. It was no accident that our acquaintance began during an hour of chemistry. We were friends and classmates throughout our academic careers at AUB. On December 29, 2012, we returned to the campus as bride and groom on a surreal and indescribably beautiful morning to commemorate the beginning of our lifelong friendship at the place where it all began.” Raed
“We met on October 10, 2007, at 5 pm in College Hall. We said that we would keep in touch, and here we are now, more than five years later, married with a young boy and a baby girl." Layal
“In a nutshell: at 13, we clicked; at 18, we fell in love; at 20, on a bench at AUB, we talked about starting our life together; and at 23 we got married! And from that day until today, I keep falling in love with that amazing person again and again!!” Tania
“Hisham proposed to me in 1995, right behind the Archaeology Department. He said, ‘I love you and I want to marry you. Can you wait five years for me?’ He used to visit me every single night at Van Dyck Hall. For us, AUB was not only the dawn of our careers, but also of our love story and relationship. It holds very dear memories.” Dima
“We met right in front of AUB's Post Office on a beautiful day early in the 1991 spring semester, and we immediately became close friends until graduation. So many things happened next, but the best was our marriage in 2000; then the birth of our kids Karim in 2003, and Lynn in 2008. Hopefully they will both be on AUB honor rolls and couples lists in the future!” Samar and Rida
