“Having joined AUB as sophomores at around the same time, we never met during orientation, nor did we run into each other on campus. We both joined the student newspaper Outlook, but during different semesters and therefore didn’t get the chance to meet there either. It was only when we started master’s degree programs that a mutual friend at AUB introduced us. It didn’t take us much time to know that we were meant for each other. A few months later we got engaged. We got married on August 12, 2013.” Nidal [Nidal is director of digital media in AUB's Communications Department and an instructor at the Media Studies Program and Continuing Education Center. “Jeffrey and I both studied for our master's degrees in political studies at AUB. Jeff proposed to me behind the observatory after taking me on a long treasure hunt across the entire campus. We had our wedding photos taken on campus at West Hall, Assembly Hall, the Green Oval and Jesup Hall where we had our classes. We are both pursuing doctorates (mine is in history at Northeastern University, and his is in political science at Brandeis University), but we stay very active in AUB alumni activities. I serve on the WAAAUB Board of Directors and Jeffrey serves on the leadership committee of the WAAAUB New England Chapter.” Sana
