Noted historian Philip K. Hitti (1886-1978) whose writings are among the basic reference works on the history of the Middle East, is the grandfather of AUB Trustee B. Philip Winder.

Established in 1950, the Women’s Auxiliary of AUBMC is run by volunteers. In 1956 Kay O'Sullivan (BA '67) arrived in Beirut with her husband and young family. Inspired by the Grey Ladies Corps, which volunteered at military and veterans hospitals during WWII, Kaye organized the Women's Auxiliary as “The Ladies in Pink” or "Pink Ladies." They continue to provide medical equipment, recognition awards for healthcare providers, and quality-of-life services for children and those in need.

Professor Abdul Mun'im Talhouk's research on the insect fauna of Saudi Arabia leads to the discovery of many new genera and species of all orders of insects. In recognition of his contributions to zoogeography, a number of species are named Talhouki by taxonomists of different nationalities.

AUB's International Affairs Club, founded in 2009, ranks 2nd worldwide. In 2015, club members distinguish themselves at the World Harvard Model United Nations Conference in South Korea.
